Newday in the City is a great opportunity for Jubilee as a local church to have a greater impact in the City where we live than would normally be possible. We’ve got over 3000 young people coming in to Derby over 5 afternoons from the 3rd – 7th August working on a vast range of different projects.
Some of these will be practical in nature, such as clearing gardens, removing grafitti and painting walls. Others will serve different age groups, such as the SonWorld kids club in Sinfin for children and the Rezound youth project at Alvaston Park for young people, which will include a gig, MC training, a nail bar and skatboarding! In other areas the young people will be out, sharing their faith and inviting people to an Alpha Supper evening with Kelle Bryan.
Dash (who is doing a great job co-ordinating all of the projects) is taking a few of us out for a project tour on Monday, so I’ll report back after that.
